Why He Became a Dentist
In 2003, after working as a consultant, Dr. Derksen decided to go back to school to pursue his dream of becoming a dentist. He was drawn to dentistry and specifically, prosthodontics, for its focus on improving people’s lives, health, and appearance through the combined use of art, science, and engineering. While this career change did not come without its hardships, it has proven to be a personally rewarding decision.
